Time for Words is a child-centred, family friendly Speech Pathology service operating in the Bayside area of Melbourne since 2011.  It is run by Alexandra Tomov BSc(Hons) MSPA CPSP.  Alexandra qualified as a Speech Pathologist in 1996 and has extensive experience working with infants, pre-school and primary school aged children who have:
  • Expressive and receptive language delay / disorders
  • Speech sound delay / disorders (articulation and phonology)
  • Literacy difficulties
  • Dysfluent speech (stutter)
  • Hearing impairment
  • Social interaction difficulties

Early intervention

Early intervention is very important for the development of a child's communication and literacy skills.  In particular, treating a presenting problem before a child starts school may encourage a smoother transition into the schooling environment.

Individual therapy programs

Time for Words develops individual therapy programs for each child based on best available evidence.  Therapy goals are set at the beginning of the program and progress is monitored on a regular basis.  The recommended frequency of the therapy sessions is determined according to evidence-based practice and your child's needs.

Concerned about your child?

If you have any concerns about your child's speech and/or language development, please contact Alexandra to discuss whether or not an assessment is required.  A doctor's referral is not necessary for your child to be seen.
